Malachite Green (MG) is very toxic for aquatic environment.

The LC50 values, calculated at 96 hours, ranging from 3.45 mg/L (Bills et al. 1977) to 1.9 mg/L (Burchmore et al. 1993). The most conservative data available is LC50 Mayfly naiads at 96h 0.079 mg/L (Bills, 1977).
