Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Test solutions

Vehicle:
no
Details on test solutions:
For the preparation of a stock solution 1 g/l of the test substance was equilibrated in synthetic fresh water without NaHCO3,
stirred for about 18 h, and finally filtered of. The resulting solution served as stock solution. NaHCO3 was added after sampling for analytical verification. The test solutions were prepared daily.

Test organisms

Test organisms (species):
Cyprinus carpio
Details on test organisms:
Cyprinus carpio (Common carp)

Source: Bio International B.V., Someren, Netherlands

Size: 3 - 5 cm

Maintenance: The fish are maintained in dechlorinated drinking water in 200 l tanks or in 300 l glass tanks at 20 ° C +/- 2 ° C with continuous flow.
The daily amount of feed (Alma) is administered in an amount of approximately 2 % of the body weight. The animals are held in quarantine for
14 days. Only then, they are used in tests.

The animals showed a normal behaviour pattern at the beginning of the test and were free from visible diseases.

The mortality 7 days before test began was < 5 %.

Pretreatment: The test animals were quarantined for 14 days prior to the start of the test without any treatment.

Details on results:
Analytical values of stability control, test solutions and stock solution. The concentrations are based on the substance. The measured test
concentrations after 0 h did not deviate by more than 20 % from the nominal concentrations. Additionally the measured concentration after 24 h
(first batch) did not deviate more than 20 % from the feshly prepared test solutions. Therefore it can be concluded that the test substance (or possible hydrolysis products) was present over the whole exposure time. The biological values were calculated with the nominal concentrations.

The highest concentration at which no mortality (< 10 %) after 96 h exposure occured was 96 h LC 0 = 34 mg/l.
The lowest concentration at which 100 % mortality after 96 h exposure occured, ws 96 LC 100 = 60 mg/l.
