Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

An experimental study to the read across substance Isostearic acid, esters with methyl α-D-glucoside is available. Based on the structural analogue approach to Stearic acid, esters with methyl α-D-glucoside, read across from Isostearic acid, esters with methyl α-D-glucoside, is considered acceptable.

The log Koc of the major component of Isostearic acid, esters with methyl α-D-glucoside was determined to be >5.63 (Koc>427000). The value is supported by calculation performed for the main components of Stearic acid, esters with methyl α-D-glucoside. The calculation yielded a Koc=5986 L/kg (log Koc=3.777); Koc=3.047x10E+7 L/kg (log Koc=7.484);  Koc=3.757x10E+12 L/kg (log Koc=12.575) and Koc=2.611x10E+17 L/kg (log Koc=17.417) (Kow method) for mono-, di-, tri- and tetraester respectively.

Based on these results and taking into account the classification of Blume & Ahlsdorf (1993), a high to very high sorption of Stearic acid, esters with methyl α-D-glucoside onto soil organic matter is to be expected.
