Description of key information

Acute toxicity of the test item was investigated in a static test using Daphnia magna as model system (EEC/92/69, C.2). No toxicity was observed for 100 mg/L nominal concentration after 48 hours exposure. The NOEC was determined to be 100 mg/L. EC50 was estimated to be > 100 mg/L. The test item is considered to be not toxic to aquatic invertebrates.

Additional information

The acute toxicity of the test item was assessed in Daphnia magna according to EEC Commission Directive 92/69, C.2., adopted in 1992. The test item is insoluble in water. Therefore an aqueous extract of 100 mg/L loading rate in reconstituted water according ISO 634, obtained by filtration, was tested. Neonates of Daphnia magna, hatched from ephippia and not more than 24 hours old, were exposed to the filtrate for 48 hours. There were no signs of toxicity during the exposure period. The NOEC was determined to be 100 mg/L and the EC50 was estimated to be > 100 mg/L.

The test item is considered to be not toxic to aquatic invertebrates.
