Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Data on the acute toxicity of trimagnesium bis(orthophosphate) (CAS 7757-87-1) to aquatic invertebrates are not available. The assessment was therefore based on studies conducted with the analogue substance tricalcium bis(orthophosphate) (CAS 7758-87-4) as part of a read across approach, which is in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex XI, 1.5.

The acute toxicity of tricalcium bis(orthophosphate) to aquatic invertebrates was investigated in a study following OECD guideline 202 (Kim et al. 2013). The study was conducted as a limit test under static conditions. Daphnia magna were exposed to a nominal test substance concentration of 100 mg/L for 48 hours. The mean measured substance concentration was 5.35 mg/L. Mortality or symptoms of intoxication were not observed. At test termination an EC50(48 h) >5.35 mg/L (nominal: EC50(48 h) >100 mg/L) based on the mean measured concentration was determined. Based on the study results for the read across substance tricalcium bis(orthophosphate) the assessed substance trimagnesium bis(orthophosphate) is considered not acutely toxic to aquatic invertebrates.
