Description of key information

In contact with water the substance will hydrolyse slowly.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Hydrolysis of thiodiglycol was examined by Lee et al (1998). They used an approach similiar to EPA guideline 600/3-82-002 with fixed pH values for measurement of 4.7 and 11 at 20-25°C. After 96 hours they found an analytically verified recovery of the test substance of nearly 100% indicating that hydrolysis is not an important fate path for thiodiglycol in the environment.
