In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX, EDG has a calculated log octanol-water partition coefficient of - 8.27, is highly water-soluble, and is unlikely, due to its polar nature, to be taken up by fish gills or across other biological membranes. Therefore, there is no need to newly perform a reliable (fish) bioaccumulation study according to current guidelines.
This is further supported by the fact that secondary references are available for the structurally comparable NTA, which indicate that only a low accumulation of Na3NTA occurs in the hydrosphere. For read across justification, see section 13 of the IUCLID.
