Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Autoflammability has been tested on two similar substances that have in common the long chain (> C18) monoester derivative of sodium sulphosuccinate.

In the non-GLP study from Bütfering (2013) the self ignition temperature of Butanedioic acid, sulfo-, 4-[2-[(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]ethyl] ester, N-C18-unsatd. acyl derivs., disodium saltswas determined according to EU method A.16. The test item had no self ignition temperature above 400°C. Therefore the test item has no Relative Self-Ignition Temperature according to the definition in the Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008, method A. 16.

In the Nichetti study (2013) the same test has been performed with similar results. As a conclusion it can be deduced that also the registered substance has a self ignition temperature > 400°C
