Chronic toxicity to fish:

Chronic daphnia and algae studies demonstrate no effects at the limits of solubility. Acute toxicity and chronic toxicity in mammalian species reveal no concern at the highest concentrations tested. Therefore, it is considered unethical and unnecessary to complete chronic toxicity testing in a vertebrate species in the aquatic environment. The substance will be classified as chronic aquatic category 4 as a precaution.


Acute toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:

The study does not need to be conducted because a long-term aquatic toxicity study on invertabrates is available


Chronic toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:

In an OECD Guideline 211 study, conducted according to GLP, the 21 day No-Observed-Effect Concentration (NOEC) and Lowest-Observed-Effect Concentration (LOEC) of the test material is 100 mg/L WAF and >100 mg/L WAF.


Acute toxicity to algae:

In an OECD 201 72 hour acute toxicity study with algae (Raphidocelis subcapitata), conducted according to GLP, the EC50 (growth rate) of the test material is 100 mg/L.Additional testing to further define the EC values was not performed since the highest nominal concentration tested, 100% of a 100 mg/L WAF represents the maximum achievable dissolved concentration under the testing conditions.


Acute toxicity to microorganisms:

In an OECD Guideline 209 study, conducted according to GLP, the 3 hour EC50 of the test material for the respiration of activated sewage sludge micro-organisms is >1000 mg/L. The No Observed Effect Concentration (NOEC) is 1000 mg/L.
