Description of key information

The study does not need to be conducted based on REACH guidance. However, the BCF for 1-nitropropane in fish was determined in a 3 day screening test.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

BCF (aquatic species):
1.3

Additional information

The study does not need to be conducted since the log Kow is less than 3. In a screening study, the BCF for 1-nitropropane in fish in a 3 day exposure study was determined to be 1.3. This value is consistent with the predicted value of 3.2 (EPIWIN). The compound has a low potential for bioaccumulation.
