Endpoint:
biodegradation in soil: simulation testing
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is readily biodegradable

Description of key information

Propylene glycol dibenzoate is readily biodegradable and therefore the determination of half-life in soil is not required.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

According to REACH, Annex IX, 9.2.1.3 simulation tests for biodegradation in soil need not be conducted if the substance is readily biodegradable. Propylene glycol dibenzoate has been found to be readily biodegradable in a test conducted in accordance with OECD Guideline 301 F (Ready Biodegradability: Manometric Respirometry Test) and therefore further testing is unnecessary.
