Description of key information

The biodegrability of 400160 was tested according to OECD guideline 301B resp. EU method C.4- C in a GLP certified testing facility.
The biodegradation for the whole test period was determined as 8.5%. Degradation missed 60% within 28 days. Therefore, the test item may be considered as “not biodegradable within 28 days”. For the positive control, a degradation of 71% was achieved within 11 d, ensuring the validity of the test.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

The following data were determined for the test item 400160:

10-day-window:     none

Degradation at the end of 10-day-window:     not detected

Degradation at the end of the test:     8.5 %

Pass level following guideline:      60% at the end of 10-day-window

For the positive control, a degradation of 71% was achieved within 11 d, ensuring the validity of the test.

Ready biodegradability is defined in the guidelines as degradation surpassing 60% within 10 days after reaching a degradation level of 10%. The degree of biodegradation reached 8.5% after 28 days. Therefore, the test item 400160 may be considered as “not biodegradable within 28 days”.
