Results and discussion

Adsorption coefficient
Type:
log Koc
Remarks on result:
other: No results were obtained; Uvasorb HA-88 would appear to be incompatible with the HPLC.

Results: HPLC method

Details on results (HPLC method):
Soil Adsorption/Desorption Coefficient (Koc) [Screen by HPLC Simulation]
No results were obtained for the value of Log Koc due to the problems encountered with the analysis of the Uvasorb HA-88 using the method parameters stated in the OECD 121 guideline.
The Uvasorb HA-88 would appear to be incompatible with Estimation of Soil Adsorption/Desorption Coefficient (Koc) using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The exact reason for this incompatibility has not been determined but it would appear that the Uvasorb HA-88 test substance is sticking to the HPLC analytical column.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Uvasorb HA88 was retained on the HPLC column and could not be eluted using the guideline method parameters. This indictaed that the test substance was incompatible with the test method used.
