Additional information

On the basis of the available data, Uvasorb HA88 is not expected to degrade neither by biotic nor abiotic pathways. Although environmental emissions are negligible, the substance, if released in the environment, is not expected to bioaccumulate in the aquatic organisms. Uvasorb HA88 is however expected to be toxic for aquatic organisms (algae).

Conclusion on classification

According to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008, on the basis of the EC50 algae (1.2 mg/L/72 hours) and considering the low biodegradation percentage reached in the 28-day ready biodegradation study, Uvasorb HA88 is classified as Aquatic Chronic 2, H411.
