Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Flash-point
Testing does not need to be conducted for substances that are solids or gases at room temperature. According the Adaptations of the standard physico-chemical testing requirements under REACH.
Potassium ethyl xanthate is solid at room temperature.
According “ANNEX VII - STANDARD INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBSTANCES MANUFACTURED OR IMPORTED IN QUANTITIES OF ONE TONNE OR MORE” AND the Adaptations of the standard physico-chemical testing requirements under REACH, the study does not need to be conducted if the substance is solid at room temperature.

The study does not need to be conducted if:
— the substance is inorganic, or
— the substance only contains volatile organic components with flash-points above 100 °C for aqueous solutions, or
— the estimated flash-point is above 200 °C, or
— the flash-point can be accurately predicted by interpolation from existing characterised materials.
- Testing does not need to be conducted for substances that are solids or gases at room temperature.
Therefore testing for Flash-point does not need to be performed.
