Additional information

Thiosulfates readily disproportionate in aqueous media (to sulfite and sulfate anions), or in contact with soil are subject to microbially mediated oxidation processes, rendering them unstable under environmentally relevant conditions. In addition, any quantitatively relevant bioaccumulation is not to be expected because of their strong anionic nature.
