Description of key information

The vapour pressure of members of this category (C8 - C16) have been measured in the range 0.0094 - 0.11 Bar (9.4 - 110 hPa) at temperatures in the range 20 - 37.8°C.

Guideline proprietary studies are available. The vapour pressure of 68606-29-1 at 20°C was measured at 3000 Pa [0.03 bar] (Chilworth Global, 2010). The vapour pressure of 91052-99-2 at 37.8°C was measured at 0.11 bar (INEOS 2009). The vapour pressure of 7756-94-7 at 37.8°C was measured at 0.02 bar (INEOS 2009). The vapour pressure of 91053-00-8 at 37.8°C was measured at 0.01 bar (INEOS 2009). The vapour pressure of 97280-83-6 at 20°C was measured at 9.4 hPa [0.0094 bar] (Evonik Oxeno 2009). These data will be read across to other members of the category.

The mean of the vapour pressure values for the category is 19.7 hPa at 20°C and this has been used to complete the 'key value for chemical safety assessment'.
