Results and discussion

Relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Remarks on result:
other: No auto ignition up to 400°C. The substance melts around 280°C and therefore no autoignition can be detected. A classification is not appropriate.

Any other information on results incl. tables

In a rapid test according to Grewer et. al. no self heating was observed up to 400°C. The melting at around 280°C inhibits an ignition. In a mixture with kieselguhr (1:1) a weak self ignition at 290°C was observed, which was induced by decomposition of the substance. A DTA-Test in an open glas crucible under air pressure (20 bar) an exothermal reaction was detected beginning at 265°C.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
No auto ignition up to 400°C. The substance melts around 280°C and therefore no autoignition can be detected. A classification as "self heating solid" is not appropriate.
