Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In a study conducted according to OECD Guideline 202 and EU Method C.2 and using Daphnia magna as test organism, the EC50 value was 74.5 mg/L and the LOEC and NOEC values were 80.8 and 40.9 mg/L, respectively, after 48 h of exposure.

Additional information

One GLP Guideline study conducted according to OECD 202 is available investigating the short-term effects of Amides, C8-10, N-(hydroxyethyl) (CAS 1443751-77-6) to freshwater invertebrates (Evonik Industries, 2013).

Daphnids were exposed to control and test chemical at nominal concentration of 6.25, 12.5, 25.0, 50.0 and 100 mg/L.The geometric mean measured concentrations were 3.82, 8.54, 19.1, 40.9 and 80.8 mg/Lfor 48 hr.  Immobilization was observed daily.  The 48 – hour EC50was 74.5 mg/L.  The 48 – hr NOEC based on immobilization was 40.9 mg/L (nominal 50.0 mg/L).

This study is classified as acceptable and satisfies the guideline requirements for an acute toxicity study with freshwater invertebrates.
