Description of key information

The 72 hour NOELR is 1000 mg/L WAF.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Four standard algal toxicity tests (Barbeiri, 1995; Mattock 1995a and 1995b; Forbis, 1990) are available for four members of this category. The tests were conducted over 72 - 96 hours using Selenastrum capricornutum. Due to the very low solubility of the test substances all the tests were conducted using Water Accommodated Fractions (WAF). All three studies report that no effects were seen at the highest concentration tested. In three studies the NOELR is 1000 mg/L WAF and in the fourth is 5220 mg/L WAF.
