Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

- General advice:

Move out of dangerous area. Place and transport victim in stable position (lying sideways).

Remove contaminated clothing immediately and dispose of safely.

- After inhalation:

Move to fresh air. Keep patient warm and at rest. Give oxygen or artificial respiration if

needed. Call a physician or poison control center immediately.

- After skin contact:

In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with polyethylene glycol 400, then with

plenty of water. Call a physician or poison control center immediately.

- After eye contact:

Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes.

Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eye. Call a

physician or poison control center immediately.

- After swallowing:

Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Call a physician or poison control center

immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing agents:

Water spray,

Carbon dioxide (CO2),

Foam,

Sand

- Special hazards caused by the material, its products of combustion or resulting gases:

In the event of fire the following may be released:

Hydrogen fluoride (HF),

Carbon monoxide (CO)

- Protective equipment:

In the event of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes.

In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

- Additional information:

Contain the spread of the fire-fighting media.

Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.

Accidental release measures

- Person-related safety precautions:

Avoid contact with spilled product or contaminated surfaces.

Use personal protective equipment.

- Measures for environmental protection:

Do not allow to get into surface water, drains and ground water.

- Measures for cleaning/collecting:

Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder).

Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly, observing environmental regulations.

Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

Manufacture and use takes place under strictly controlled conditions. The substance

is rigorously contained (production, use), appropriate risk management measures are

applied and a management system is in place. An authorisation scheme covers the

process and a procedure ensures that only trained and authorised persons handle

the substance. Process procedures for containment during cleaning and

maintenance have been accounted for in plant and engineering design as

appropriate for the site. Procedures to ensure containment have been applied for all

stages of production and processing. Occupational procedures have been assessed

and are documented.

Personal precautions while handling the product:

- respiratory protection:

If product is handled while not enclosed, and if contact may occur:

Wear respirator with an organic vapours and gas filter mask

(protection factor 10) conforming to EN140 type A or equivalent.

- hand/skin/body protection:

Wear CE Marked (or equivalent) nitrile rubber gloves (minimum

thickness 0,40 mm). Wash when contaminated. Dispose of when

contaminated inside, when perforated or when contamination

outside cannot be removed. Wash hands always before eating,

drinking, smoking or using the toilet.

Wear standard coverall and type 3 suit.

Wear two layers of clothing wherever possible. Polyester/cotton or

cotton overalls should be worn under chemical protection suit and

should be professionally laundered frequently.

If chemical protection suit is splashed, sprayed or significantly

contaminated, decontaminate as far as possible, then carefully

remove and dispose of as advised by manufacturer.

- eye protection:

Wear goggles conforming to EN166 (Field of Use 5) and faceshield

conforming to EN166 (Field of Use 3).

- Hygene measures:

Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Keep working clothes separately.

Wash hands immediately after work, if necessary take a shower.

Remove soiled clothing immediately and clean thoroughly before using again.

Garments that cannot be cleaned must be destroyed (burnt).
