Additional information

The test substance is not considered to be readily biodegradable based on the results of one GLP-Guideline study (Tobimatsu, 2011). Further simulation tests on biodegradation in water, sediment and soil according to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex IX, 9.2.1.2., 9.2.1.3. and 9.2.1.4., were not performed. Further biodegradation tests in sediment and soil are not deemed necessary since the substance has low potential for adsorption. On the other hand, considering the result of the ready biodegradability test, persistence in water cannot be excluded.

Nevertheless, the environmental exposure assessment according Annex XI, section 3 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 does not indicate a risk for the aquatic or terrestrial environment assuming that the substance is persistent (all RCR < 1; please refer to Chapter 9 and 10 of the Chemical Safety Report for detailed information).
