Description of key information

Additional information

This substance has high water solubility (miscible), a low vapor pressure (60.6 Pa at 25 °C) , and low log Kow (-0.32). The substance has a low potential for adsorption to soil or sediments or bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms, and a low potential to volatilize from water or soil to the atmosphere. The compound rapidly hydrolyzes in water with half-lives ranging from <0.1 hours to 3.8 hours over the pH range of 4 to 9 at 25C. The compound meets the criteria of inherent primary biodegradability, while the hydrolysis product 2-amino-2-ethyl-1,3-propanediol (AEPD) meets the criteria of inherent ultimate biodegradability. Upon release to the atmosphere the compound will react with hydroxyl radicals with a predicted half-life of 0.2 days.
