Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII (section 7.13) and the "Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance (May 2008), section R.7.1.13.1, page 138" a study for the oxidizing properties "does not need to be conducted if the substance is the substance is highly flammable". When Feropur comes in contact with water, Feropur degrades within seconds under the production of H2. Based on this finding, Feropur was classisfied as highly flammable and therefore, the test for the determination of the oxidizing properties of Feropur is not needed.

Since Na2O is one of the constituents of Feropur this gives a structural alert for oxidizing properties. Therefore, Feropur must be considered to have oxidizing properties.
