Description of key information

A single OECD 201 freshwater green algal toxicity study conducted under GLP is available.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
22 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
15 mg/L

Additional information

A 72 -hour toxicity test with the freshwater green alga, Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, following OECD Guideline 201 was conducted on 1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid. The 72 -hour EC10 results were 12 mg a.i./L for yield and 15 mg a.i./L for growth rate. The EC10 values are considered to be the no observable effect concentrations (NOECs) as the statistical results for the NOECs were not believed to be reliable. The 72 -hour EC20 results were 14 mg a.i./L for yield and 16 mg a.i./L for growth rate. The 72 -hour EC50 results were 19 mg a.i./L for yield and 22 mg a.i./L for growth rate.
