- PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF TEST SOLUTION:
The test substance was stirred in deionized water for about 20 min at approximately 20 ± 2 °C. The stock solution was clear and colourless. The nominal concentration of the stock solution was 125.1 mg/L. Following this, serial dilutions of this stock solution were prepared in order to obtain the desired test concentrations.

- The test strain of Desmodesmus subspicatus CHODAT SAG 86 .81 is obtained at regular intervals from SAG (Coilection of algal cultures in Göttingen) and is kept in liquid culture in the Laboratory of Experimental Toxicology and Ecology.
PRECULTURE TECHNIQUES:
- Seed-culture: a seed culture was incubated for 4 days at 23 ± 2°C; final cell density: 1.48E+06 cells/mL
- Pre-cutture: seed-culture was taken to inoculate a pre-culture (initial cell density: 1E+04 cells/mL) . The pre-culture was incubated for 3 days at 23 ± 2°C. Final cell density : 5.5E+05 cells/mL.
