Description of key information

BIOWIN SAR predicts the substance as not readily biodegradable. However, the substance is expected to undergo significant biodegradation in a ready biodegrability study, with ultimate biodegradation occuring in a timeframe of weeks and primary degradation occuring in a timeframe of days.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
inherently biodegradable

Additional information

For the purpose of REACH registration, the use of the BIOWIN SAR for filling the ready biodegradation endpoint appears appropriate for the substance based on an assessment of the applicability domain. SAR results: Biodegrades fast. Ultimate biodegradation timeframe: Weeks. Primary biodegradation timeframe: Days. Not readily degradable. Anaerobic: Does not biodegrade fast. The BIOWIN SAR results indicate that the substance is likely to be inherently biodegradable. Further review may be necessary in the Chemical Safety Assessment/Report.
