Appearance / physical state / colour:
On the basis of physical observation and using the sense of smell, 2-[[(4-methoxyphenyl)methylhydrazono]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl-3H-indolium acetate (CAS No. 58798-47-3) was observed to be a yellow liquid organic compound.
Melting point/ Freezing point:
The Freezing point of 2-[[(4-methoxyphenyl)methylhydrazono]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl-3Hindolium acetate; CAS No. 58798-47-3 was determined using Freezing Temperature Method No freezing was observed up to less than -12.2 °C.
Boiling point:
The mean boiling point of Reaction mass of 3H-Indolium, 2-[[2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-methylhydrazinylidene]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl- & acetate was119°C at 971.7 hPa.
Density:
The mean density of 2-[[(4-methoxyphenyl)methylhydrazono]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl-3H-indolium acetate (CAS No. 58798-47-3) was found to be 1.111 g/cm³ at 20°C and 975.0 hPa.
Particle size distribution (Granulometry):
In accordance with column 2 of Annex VII of the REAcH regulation this end point was considered for waiver since the chemical 2-[[(4-methoxyphenyl)methylhydrazono]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl-3Hindolium acetate (CAS No. 58798-47-3) is a liquid and is expected to be marketed or used in a non solid or granular form.
Vapour pressure:
The estimated vapour pressure of the test substance Reaction mass of 3H-Indolium, 2-[[2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-methylhydrazinylidene]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl- & acetate at 25deg C was 6.84E-12 Pa (5.13E-14 mm Hg).
Partition coefficient:
By using KOWWIN Program (v1.68) of Estimation Program Interface (EPI suite, 2018) the octanol water partition coefficent (log Pow) of chemical Reaction mass of 3H-Indolium, 2-[[2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-methylhydrazinylidene]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl- & acetate was estimated to be 0.96 dimensionless at temparature 25oC. By this log Pow value chemical 2-[[(4-methoxyphenyl)methylhydrazono]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl-3H-indolium acetate is expected to be hydrophilic in nature.
Water solubility:
The water solubility for the test item 2-[[(4-methoxyphenyl)methylhydrazono]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl-3H-indolium acetate was found to be 392.220 gm/L at 25°C.
Surface tension:
Based on the prediction done by ACD labs, the surface tension for chemical 2-[[(4-methoxyphenyl)methylhydrazono]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl-3H-indolium acetate (CAS No.58798-47-3) was predicted to be 40.2 ± 7.0 dyne/cm.
Flash point:
The mean flash point of 2-[[(4-methoxyphenyl)methylhydrazono]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl-3H-indolium acetate (CAS No. 58798-47-3) was 136°C at 972.7hPa.
Autoflammability :
2-[[(4-methoxyphenyl)methylhydrazono]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl-3H-indolium acetate(CAS No. 58798-47-3) did not catch fire on being exposed to air at room temperature of 27°Cpressure of 966 hPa. Thus it can be concluded that 2-[[(4 -methoxyphenyl)methylhydrazono]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl-3H-indolium acetate (CAS No. 58798-47-3) is not flammable at high temperature. However since such high temperatures are not found under normal circumstances of transportation and use, thus 2-[[(4-methoxyphenyl)methylhydrazono]methyl] -1,3,3-trimethyl-3H-indolium acetate (CAS No. 58798-47-3) was considered non-flammable.
Explosiveness:
The study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties.

Kinematic viscosity (experimental) of Reaction mass of 3H-Indolium, 2-[[2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-methylhydrazinylidene]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl- & acetate at 20°C and 40°C was 97.4662 mm²/sec and 49.7211mm²/s, respectively.
Dynamic viscosity (calculated) of Reaction mass of 3H-Indolium, 2-[[2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-methylhydrazinylidene]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl- & acetate at 20°C and 40°C was 108.2946 mPa.S and 55.2451 mPa.S, respectively.

Liquids (First Revision) using glass pyknometer.The mean density of test item was found to be 1.111 g/cm³at 20°C and 975.0 hPa..

The solubility of (2-[[(4 -methoxyphenyl)methylhydrazono]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl-3H-indolium acetate of CAS No: 58798-47-3) in water was found to be 392.220 gm/L at 25°C.
Hence based on experimental value the the given chemical is considered to be moderatelysoluble in water.
Surface tension:
Based on the prediction done by ACD labs Software (v12.1.0.50375), the surface tension for chemical 2-[[(4-methoxyphenyl)methylhydrazono]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl-3H-indolium acetate (CAS No.58798-47-3) was predicted to be 40.2 ± 7.0 dyne/cm.
Flash point:
The flash point determination of 2-[[(4-methoxyphenyl)methylhydrazono]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl-3H-indolium acetate (CAS No. 58798-47-3) was done following closed cup method using Pensky-Martens flash point apparatus. The test was conducted in replicates and mean flash point was found to be 136°C at 972.7hPa.
Autoflammability :
2-[[(4-methoxyphenyl)methylhydrazono]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl-3H-indolium acetate(CAS No. 58798-47-3) did not catch fire on being exposed to air at room temperature of 27°Cpressure of 966 hPa. Viscosity:
The viscosity determination of Test item 2-[[(4-methoxyphenyl)methylhydrazono]methyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl-3Hindolium acetate (CAS No. 58798-47-3) was done as per the test guideline OECD 114 using Redwood Viscometer No. 1. Kinematic viscosity (experimental) of Test item at 20°C and 40°C was 97.4662 mm²/sec and 49.7211 mm²/s, respectively. Dynamic viscosity (calculated) of Test item at 20°C and 40°C was 108.2946 mPa.S and 55.2451 mPa.S, respectively.
