Description of key information

The test substance is an aqueous solution in 40% acetic acid. Therefore the acetic acid solution is relevant for the boiling point and not the Basic Yellow 28 Acetate.
Basic Yellow 28 Acetate is only stable in presence of significant concentrations of free acetic acid; it can not be isolated as such.
The boiling point of acetic acid is 117.9˚C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The test substance is an aqueous solution in 40 % acetic acid. Therefore the acetic acid solution is relevant for the boiling point and not the Basic Yellow 28 Acetate.

Basic Yellow 28 Acetate is only stable in presence of significant concentrations of free acetic acid; it can not be isolated as such.

The boiling point of acetic acid is 117.9 ˚C.

The methyl sulfate salt of Basic Yellow 28 has no boiling point under atmospheric conditions. The test item decomposes.
