Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

According to Regulation (EC) 1907/2006, Annex VIII, Column 2, a study does not need to be conducted if the substance can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption or the substance and its relevant degradation products decompose rapidly. Sodium 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetate (CAS No. 2702-72-9) rapidly dissociates in water into 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (CAS No. 94-75-7). Therefore, the evaluation of this endpoint is based on the adsorption/desorption information of this substance. As the Koc value for 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid is 56 (European Comission, 2001), low potential for adsorption of this substance to solid particles can be assumed.
