Additional information

To assess the chronic toxicity of 4-[(2-chloroethyl)(ethyl)amino]benzaldehyde towards fish study results are not available. The results of acute tests indicate very toxic effects of 4-[(2-chloroethyl)(ethyl)amino]benzaldehyde towards aquatic invertebrates and additionally, daphnids are more sensitive than fish in the acute studies. Based on this information, there is no indication that fish may be more sensitive towards chronic effects of the test substance than daphnids are. It can therefore be assumed with sufficient confidence, that a chronic study with fish would not provide any additional information improving risk assessment significantly.

For this reason, and animal welfare, a chronic study with fish is not provided for 4-[(2-chloroethyl)(ethyl)amino]benzaldehyde.
