First-aid measures

Inhalation:

Move to fresh air. If irritation should occur, it is expected to be transient. If irritation persists get medical attention.

Skin contact:

Hot (molten) product: For contact with molten product, do not remove any material or clothing adhering to the skin. Flush the burned area immediately with large amounts of cold water. If it is possible, submerge the area in cold water. Immediately seek medical attention or contact a physician. Attempting to remove resin from contact with molten product may result in skin damage. Take victim immediately to hospital.

Cold (solid) product: Wash off with soap and plenty of water. If irritation persists, get medical attention.

Eye contact:

Hot (molten) product: Flush eye(s) immediately with plenty of water. Take victim immediately to hospital.

Cold (solid) product: Rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

Ingestion:

Hot (molten) product: Not a likely route of entry

Cold (solid) product: Rinse mouth. Drink water as a precaution. If ingestion of a large amount occurs, seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Hot (molten product: Water spray mist or foam, carbon dioxide (CO2) or dry powder.

Cold (solid) product: Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.

Unsuitable extinguishing media

DO NOT use water jet on molten material due to danger of violent explosion and scattering of material, caused by steam generation below material surface.

Special protective equipment

Self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing should be worn in fire conditions.

Special exposure hazards

After prolonged contact with highly porous materials, this product may spontaneously combust.

Accidental release measures

Environmental cleanup procedures

Hot (molten) product: Allow to solidify, use mechanical handling equipment. Prevent product from entering drains.

Cold (solid) product: Collect as much as possible in a clean container for (preferably) reuse or disposal. Sweep up the remainder with a dustpan and brush. Prevent the generation of dust.

Handling and storage

Handling

Hot (molten) product: Do not use pressure to empty container. Product should be handled in a closed system. Good ventilation in work area needed. Ventilate the storage tank directly to outside and not to the work place. All handling equipment needs to be heated.

Cold (solid) product: Use this product with adequate ventilation. Guard against dust accumulation of this material. Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at machinery and at places where dust can be generated. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. As with all chemicals, good industrial hygiene practices should be followed when handling this material.

Storage

Hot (molten) product: Keep in a container fitted with a vent / safety vent.

Cold (solid) product: Store in a cool, dry place with good ventilation. Avoid the production of dust.

Materials to avoid.

Do not use fibrous/porous material for insulation - resin can spontaneously ignite if in prolonged contact with this type of material.
