Description of key information

In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex IX section 9.3.2, a study investigating the Bioaccumulation in aquatic species, preferably fish, does not need to be conducted as the substance is considered to have a low potential for bioaccumulation as it has a log Kow of 1.26 which is less than the threshold value of 3 stated in the aforementioned section of the Regulation.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance is considered to have a low potential to bioaccumulate based on its measured log Kow of 1.26. As such a study is not required for this endpoint in accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex IX section 9.3.2.

A supporting study, Call. D.J, et al, 1984 indicated that the substance is not highly bioconcentrated in fish tissue, and small amounts that may accumulate are readily eliminated when the exposure ends. This study was deemed to be Reliability 4 according to the Klimisch scale and as such was selected as a supporting rather than key study for this endpoint.
