Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In a OECD 209 test, the EC10 value based on respiration rate was > 1000 mg/L after 3 hours contact time (nominal conentration).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
1 000 mg/L

Additional information

For the substance, one microorganisms toxicity study (OECD 209, Activated Sludge Respiration Inhibition Test) is available.

Additional, a supporting study is available.

The effect of the test substance on the respiration rate of an activated sludge according to the OECD guideline 209 after an incubation duration of three hours was investigated. As inoculum microorganisms from a sewage treatment plant mainly fed with municipal wastewater were used. There was no inhibitory effect of the test item on the respiration rate. The EC50 of the reference item 3,5-dichlorophenol for respiration inhibition was in the range of 2 and 25 mg/I in 3 hours. The validity criterions concerning the reference item and the comparability of the controls were fulfilled. No important oxygen consumption by the test substance was detected after three hours. On the basis of this result, the EC10 value of the test substance is assumed to be greater than 1000 mg/L based on nominal effect concentration.
