Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The vapour pressure of alcohols, C12 -15, ethoxylated, 1 -2.5 EO was deduced from the studies on structurally similar substances.

Literature values for dodecan-1 -ol, tridecan-1 -ol, tetradecanol and pentadecan-1 -ol (ethoxylation degree 0) show a vapour pressure of 0.113 Pa, 0.0581 Pa, 0.0147 Pa, and 0.00513 Pa at 25 °C respectively.

Vapour pressure is a property which shows a negative correlation with the number of CH2 groups. The higher the number of CH2 groups, the lower the vapour pressure. There is also a correlation between vapour pressure and the degree of ethoxylation. Calculations show the higher the degree of ethoxylation, the lower the vapour pressure.

Therefore the vapour pressure of alcohols, C12 -15, ethoxylated, 1 -2.5 EO is deduced to be < 1 Pa at 25 °C.
