Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to fish:

An 96-h acute toxicity study on zebrafish was conducted under flow-through conditions according to OECD guideline 203. The test substance concentrations were monitored during the test, and the results were based on measured concentrations. The 96h-LC50 was determined to be 14 mg/L (reference 6.1.1-1).

Short-term to aquatic invertebrates:

The acute toxicity to the freshwater invertebrate Daphnia magna has been investigated according to OECD Guideline 202 in a static test. The test substance concentration was monitored during the test. Based on measured concentrations, the 48 h-EC50 was determined to be 3.4 mg/L (reference 6.1.3-1).

toxicity to aquatic alage and cyanobacteria:

A growth inhibition test on Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was conducted according to OECD 201. The test substance was measured in a 100 mg/L solution, the substance loss was below 20 %. The toxicity parameters were based on the exposure concentrations estimated using the analytical results of the previous tests. Under the conditions of this study, the EC50-values with 95 % confidence intervals for both inhibition of growth rate (ErC50) and cell growth (EbC50) after 72 hours was 18 mg/L (95% CI 9.7 - 34 mg/L) and 9.2 mg/L (95 % CI 4.6 - 18 mg/L), respectively. The EC10-values with 95 % confidence intervals for inhibition of growth rate (ErC10) and cell growth (EbC10) after 72 hours was 3.8 mg/L (95 % CI 2.0 - 7.1 mg/L) and 2.4 mg/L (95 % CI 1.2 - 4.9 mg/L), respectively. The NOEC-values for both inhibition of growth rate and cell growth after 72 hours were 2 mg/L (reference 6.1.5-1).

Toxicity to microorganisms:

A test on respiration inhibition using acivated sludge of a predominantly domestic sewage treatment plant  was conducted according to OECD 209. After 30 min of exposure the EC50 was determined to be ca. 3 g/L (reference 6.1.7-1).
