Description of key information

The chemical safety assessment according to Annex I of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 does not indicate the need to investigate further the toxicity to terrestrial arthropods.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No experimental data evaluating the toxicity of Glycerides, C8-18 and C18-unsatd. mono- and di-, acetates (CAS No. 91052-13-0) to arthropods are available. The standard information requirements set in Annex IX of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Column 2, 9.4, state that short-term toxicity tests on invertebrates should be available. Since long-term earthworm toxicity data are available, showing no toxicity, testing on terrestrial arthropods is not deemed necessary. The study conducted with Eisenia fetida according to OECD 222 showed no effects neither on reproduction (NOEC (56 d) = 1000 mg/kg dw) nor survival or biomass (Schöbinger, 2013).

Based on the available information, the chemical safety assessment according to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex I, does not indicate the need to conduct further tests on terrestrial arthropods.
