Additional information

Biodegradation in water: these fibers are poorly soluble. If any dissolution occurs, the ions released by the substance are ions that naturally occur in pure water and therefore, the aquatic toxicity is unlikely to occur. Following annex VII column 2, 9.2.1.1 and annex IX column 2 9.2.1.2 the substance is poorly soluble, so not necessary to test it, considered as not degradable in water.

Degradation in soil and sediments: this substance has a low adsorption potential to soil and sediments so the test proposed in annex IX 9.2.1.3 and 9.1.2.4 are not adequate as there is not any organic carbon.
