Description of key information

No observed effect concentration (NOEC) value i.e 0.656195 mg/L of 4-(2,6,6-trimethylcyclohex-1-ene-1-yl)-but-3-ene-2-one indicate that test

chemical could not be toxic to aquatic algae.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
0.656 mg/L

Additional information

The no observed effect level (NOEC) value of 4-(2,6,6-trimethylcyclohex-1-ene-1-yl)-but-3-ene-2-one in algae (Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata) in a 72 hr study on growth effect was estimated to be 0.656195 mg/L.Thus considering the NOEC value it is concluded that 4-(2,6,6-trimethylcyclohex-1-ene-1-yl)-but-3-ene-2-one could not be considered as toxic to aquatic algae.
