Additional information

Studies have not been performed to test the carcinogenic potential of isoundecanol. However, based on other endpoints, it is not expected to present a carcinogenic hazard. As described in section 7.1 – Toxicokinetic studies for Alcohols, C7-9-iso, C8-rich (Isooctanol; Exxal 8) CAS number 68526-83-0 and Alcohols, C11-14 iso, C13-rich (Isotridecanol: Exxal 13) CAS number 68526-86-3 have been conducted. Based on these studies, alcohols are efficiently metabolized, being excreted mostly through the urine within 24h. Furthermore, there are no structural alerts to suggest these compounds are inherently carcinogenic. Finally, in multiple in vitro genetic toxicity studies no evidence of mutagenic potential has been identified.
