Conclusions:
A water solubility of 1.8 mg/L was determined for Estron-Methylether.
Executive summary:

The water solubility of Estron-Methylether is determined using the flask method according guidance A.6 of the European Community (Appendix to the guidelines 92/69/EWG, dated July 31,1992).

12 tubes containing a suspension of Estron-Methylether are kept in a water bath while stirring at 30°C. After three days the tubes are given in a water bath while stirring at 20°C ± 0.2 K. At the sampling time at days 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 and 10 (calculated from the start at 20°C) about 2 ml of the suspension are drawn up witll a syringe and centrifuged. After sampling the tubes

are put back while stirring into the water bath at 20°C and two sampies are analyzed at day 14, again. Each saturation experiment is made in duplicate.

The water solubility was determined after equilibration at 20°C and separation from the insoluble residues as 1.8 mg/L. According X-ray powder diffraction the starting material and the insoluble residues consist of the same solid state form.
