Description of key information

According to Regulation (EC) No.1907/2006, Annexes IX and X, Column 2, further testing for ultimate biodegradation in soil need not be conducted if direct and indirect exposure to soil is unlikely. The Koc for BTDA is 307.2; this value falls below the range of Koc values of 500-1000, below which substances are unlikely to adsorb to soil. The chemical safety assessment did not indicate the need to investigate the degradation of BTDA; the risk characterisation ratios for soil are below one. Therefore, in accordance with Annex I, the risks are considered controlled.
