Description of key information

Toxicity to microorganisms:
- EC50 (16h)= 1.5 mg/l for Pseudomonas putida (growth inhibition) (ISO/DIS 10712 (1995))
- EC10 (16h)= 0.34 mg/l for Pseudomonas putida (growth inhibition) (ISO/DIS 10712 (1995))

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
1.5 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
0.34 mg/L

Additional information

In a 16-h toxicity study (Thiebaud H., 1995), according to the ISO/DIS 10712 norm, Pseudonomas putida was exposed to 11-aminoundecanoic acid at nominal concentrations of 0 (control), 1, 2, 5 and 10 mg a.i./L under static conditions. The inhibition of growth was measured by the turbity at each concentrations.

The 16 h- EC50was 1.5 mg a.i./L (0.044 - 3 mg/L) and the 16h-EC10was 0.34 mg a.i./L (0 - 1.1 mg/L)

Based on the results of this study, 11- aminoundecanoic acid shows toxicity to Pseudomonas putida.
