Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
biodegradation in water: sediment simulation testing
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is readily biodegradable

Description of key information

A data waiver has been submitted for this data requirement. Testing was considered unnecessary as the test substance is readily biodegradable and anticipated to mineralise quickly in the environment. Furthermore, the chemical safety assessment does not indicate the need to investigate further the degradation of the substance and its degradation products. The risk characterisation at the regional scale demonstrated safe use for both the water and sediment compartments and no further refinement of the estimated water and sediment half-life is needed.
