A study was conducted to determine the biodegradability potential of the regsistered substance in water, in accordance with OECD Testing Guideline 301D. Under the test conditions the percentage biodegradation of EMI-DBS reached a mean of 32.1% after 28 days based on the measured COD of the test item. Therefore the test item can be considered to be not ready biodegradable. Based on biodegradation being recorded as > 20% the study provides evidence of the test substance being inherently biodegradable (as per ECHA's Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R.7b: Endpoint specific guidance, section R. Laboratory data on degradation/biodegradation).
