Additional information

A study was conducted on the registered substance to determine the acute toxicity of the substance to aquatic invertebrates. The short-term toxicity of the test substance to aquatic invertebrates was determined in accordance with the OECD Guideline for Testing of Chemicals 202. The acute toxicity of EMI-DBS was determined using Daphnia magna for 48 hours in a static test. The toxicity test was performed in 1.00, 2.20, 4.84, 10.65 and 23.43 mg/l (nominal concentration, geometric series 2.2) of the test item in the definitive test. The 48 hour EC50 of the test substance, based on immobility, was found to be 8.61 mg/l. In accordance with EU CLP criteria, it can be concluded that the test substance is not a short-term toxin to aquatic invertebrates, however it can be classified as a Chronic Aquatic Toxin of Category 2.
