Tests on phototransformation in water are not required to be performed under Annexes VII to X of REACH. Moreover, no data available for phototransformation of chloroethylenein water.
Taking into account high volatility of chloroethylene(half life of volatilization from water estimated as 49.4 minutes (for a river) to 3.14 days (for a lake) using EPI Suite software), the most dominant environmental fate process will be photooxidation ofchloroethylenein the atmosphere.
The estimated half-life ofchloroethylenein water is approximately 15 days (360 hours) using EPI Suite software.
