Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The acute immobilisation (EC50) of the test item to Daphnia magna (STRAUS) was determined according to OECD Guideline 202 I/EEC Directive 92/69/EEC Method C.2. The EC50 at 24 h was 63 mg/L and the EC50 at 48 h was 31 mg/L.

Additional information

The acute immobilisation (EC50) of the test item to Daphnia magna (STRAUS) was determined according to OECD Guideline 202 I/EEC Directive 92/69/EEC Method C.2.

The study was conducted under static conditions over a duration of 48 h. Twenty organisms were exposed to each test concentration and control. The test item was clearly dissolved after filtration of the saturated stock solution in all tested concentration levels throughout exposure. The real test concentrations were calculated based on DOC-analysis:

3.4- 8.0- 16- 35- 75 mg/L.

The EC10and EC50were calculated by probit analysis in the tested concentration range.

A reference is carried out once per month with potassium dichromate as reference item and the reference toxicity determined. The EC50value of the reference item at 1.9 mg/L after 24 h was within the prescribed concentration range of 1.0 to 2.5 mg/L according to AQS, DIN Guideline 38412 L 30.

Water quality parameters of pH-value and dissolved oxygen concentration measured at 0 and 48 h were determined to be within the acceptable limits.

The validity criteria of the test guideline were fulfilled.
