First-aid measures
respiration. If breathing is difficult administer oxygen.
Seek immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes with water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical
attention immediately.
Emergency measure - Skin: Flush area with large amounts of water for at least 15
minutes. Remove contaminated clothing. Use soap if
available. Seek medical attention immediately.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention immediately. Do not induce vomiting
unless directed by medical personnel. Never give anything by
mouth to an unconscious person.
Fire-fighting measures
appropriate media, including water.
Product arising from burning: The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in a
fire, evolving noxious fumes (eg carbon and nitrogen
oxides).

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn to prevent contact with skin and
eyes. Use water spray to keep fire-exposed containers cool.
Accidental release measures
Contain the source of the spill if it is safe to do so.
Spills should be cleaned up in a manner that minimizes
exposure to personnel. Personnel involved in clean-up of
spills, particulary solids, should wear respiratory
protection, gloves, eye protection and protective overalls.
A filtered vacuum should be used to clean spills of dry
solids. Otherwise, wet the material with water and collect
for disposal. Clean the spill area thoroughly. Collect wash
with absorbent material and transfer all waste to a labelled
container for disposal.
Handling and storage
conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with
any local regulations in order to avoid exposure.
Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the
substance.
Avoid heat sources, due to the high thermal hazard of this
compound. Minimize dust generation. Process equipment for
handling dry substance should be properly bonded and
equipped with proper explosion relief. Use with adequate
ventilation. Avoid breathing dust, and contact with eyes,
skin and clothing.
When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled
appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.
Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate
international or national standards as follows;
Chemical protective gloves eg. to Standard EN374
Chemical protective clothing eg. to Standard EN368
Eye protection eg. to Standard EN166.
Furthermore, when respiratory protective equipment has to be
used, it must be capable of adequately controlling exposure,
be suitable for the purpose, and conform to the appropriate
international or national standards, such as a dust mask
conforming to EN12941.
These measures should be regarded as a minimum.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry well-ventilated area.
Keep containers tightly closed when not in use. Store in
secondary pans or trays away from heat, sparks and flame.
Label all containers when the substance is transferred from
the original container.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Polyethylene liner which is contained in a fibre drum
(approximately 150 litres in volume).

Disposal considerations
Recovery from minor spillages or accidental discharge is not
economically or technically feasible, and such waste
material will be disposed of by incineration. In principle,
it may be possible to recover larger spillages of
uncontaminated material for subsequent use.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The notification tests have shown that the substance is a
severe eye irritant, a skin sensitiser and toxic by acute
oral ingestion.
No chemical treatment is practicable to neutralise the
hazardous health properties.
The dust hazard will be minimised by appropriate handling
and storage.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with
inert material (eg. sand or soil) may be disposed of by
incineration.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning
under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment
processor in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases
should be scrubbed, because noxious fumes (eg. carbon and
nitrogen oxides) could be formed.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Isolated wastes from use should be deactivated with bleach
prior to discharge.
