The test substance is acutely toxic to fish.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Two studies on the short-term toxicity to fish are available, the key study (CIBA-GEIGY 1985) with a warmwater fish (zebrafish) and the supporting study (CIBA-GEIGY, 1978) with four coldwater fish (rainbow trout, carp, catfish and bluegill).

The 96 hour acute toxicity to zebrafish (Danio rerio) was assessed under static conditions. The calculated 96 hour LC50 based on mortality was 9 mg/L. Therefore, the test substance is acutely toxic to fish.

The supporting study gave LC50 values after 96 h of exposure of > 100 ppm for all four test species.
